It’s time to quickly gain courage and relieve stress. It’s a new year, and with that, you may feel like you need to do something completely different.
Change can be scary, but that doesn’t mean you have to be afraid! In Episode 77 of the Total Fit Boss Chick Podcast, we’re joined by Corbin Elliott of Effect Media and host of Peace and Purpose Podcast.
Today we’re discussing gaining courage, comforting yourself when you feel uneasy, and strategies for relieving stress –especially when we’re putting ourselves in a place of toxic productivity. One of the most crucial aspects of change is the fear it brings. Although, the answer seems to be straightforward–courage.
Yet, it’s much more complicated than that; we need to know how we can harness our courage and take the leap! Sometimes we find ourselves knowing what we want to change; whether it’s regarding our career path or relationships–whatever change it is, you need perspective.
One of the best ways to gain perspective is connecting with someone outside of our social circle or someone who has taken a similar change as you’re about to take.
This is because people we are constantly around people who have a set perspective on how life should be like – and the change you might want to take is one that breaks those expectations. Remember, perspective empowers you to make that change!

Meditation is the best way to handle stress. It helps us be mindful of situations and our bodies. We might be feeling unwell because our stress has manifested in our bodies to be like this, yet we push on. When we meditate, we can listen to our body and know what it needs, whether that is rest, self-care, or even simply stretching.

- Feeling Uneasy
When we feel uneasy, we need to brain dump! Sometimes we have so many things going in our heads that we just need to release them. Brain dumping or simple journaling without a prompt is a great way to release all our stressful and uneasy thoughts.

- Toxic Productivity
When we catch ourselves in the loop of toxic productivity, building a system is a great way to break that cycle. Corbin suggests using these three actions – eliminate, automate and outsource. If something cannot be eliminated, like cleaning the floors, you can automate it by having a smart hover. However, if you can’t automate it, like scheduling social media posts, you might need to outsource. Following “eliminate, automate and outsource” in this order can help you tackle tasks without overly exhausting you!
